LIT REVIEW – a part of the argument

Method Section = how and why I picked the data I did

-Justifying why the phenomenon I’m looking at it important

- Why my approach is important

- I think the phenomenon I am talking about Is important because is shows us how this type of trial is discussed on social media but more specifically Tik Tok. Why does it matter what way people talking about these kind of trials on social media?

-       Why this theory is what it is -

-       Why it matters –

-       Just because we have social media doesn’t mean that people communicate in this way, this pattern was already formed social media is just a written way of showing this pattern.

I think this scope of communication and social media usage is important to understand in the face of victims, unaware or uneducated parties, and legal teams. Understanding the use and power of social media in the hands of victims to be able to seek help, speak out, and connect to support systems whether through individual communication, virtual communication, group communication, or therapeutical communication. The use of social media for victims is crucial for them to access tools, support, and a voice. Social platforms need to work on keeping this type of support, and language terms unfiltered and available on all platforms to these individuals. Understanding the use and power of written social media communication and content is necessary in the effect of bringing awareness, education, and importance on how real and dangerous defamation but more importantly domestic violence is. The use of social media here provides information on what domestic violence and defamation is, what they can look like, and what you can do to help. If you are unaware to a situation that is happening around, but you see information or content on a social platform you use describing or even talking about this situation you now have insight and hopefully action you can take whether you are a victim or someone you know are in trouble. Understanding how legal parties and PR firms use social media to understand and research how defamation and domestic violence are spoken about and understood on social media is a key tool in their data base. Seeing how individuals are talking about these issues give these teams insight on how to prep and handle, what areas to emphasize on, and what people in the sense of juries or grand public think is unimportant.
